Sweetheart Luncheon...

Take your special sweetheart to lunch on Saturday, February 9 at noon in the Fellowship Hall.




Harvest Day...

Harvest Day occurs three times during the year. It's purpose is to focus on tithing and the benefits of tithing. Testimonies will be given in each of the worship services, followed by a covered dish luncheon in Fellowship Hall. The next Harvest Day is scheduled for Sunday, Februay 10.



REVIVAL...



February 17, 18 & 19, 2008 - Freddie Coile of FOCUS Evangelistic Ministries will be speaking.


    Freddie Coile is a 1990 graduate of Florida Bible College and was ordained into gospel ministry that same year. He has served in a variety of ministry capacities including resource volunteer for Northeast Georgia Fellowship of Christian Athletes, director of B-4-Real Youth Ministries, evangelist for Newheart (a ministry of Florida Bible College), and youth pastor of King’s Way Bible Church in Comer GA. He is the co-founder of Focus Evangelistic Ministries, Inc. and has served as President of FEMI since 1992. Freddie writes and speaks full time.

    Freddie Coile is passionate about declaring the truth of the Bible with clarity and simplicity! The target of his ministry is to clearly communicate the gospel of grace to unbelievers and solid Bible teaching to believers in order to nurture them to grow and walk in fellowship with Jesus Christ. His ministry of speaking and writing is warmly received and embraced by audiences all over - and God is changing lives!

Car Wash...


The youth of the church will be washing cars on Saturday, March 22 to raise money for their summer Bible Camp. Stop by, get your car washed, give them a donation.



Worship In The Park...

Sunday, March 30 we will worship in the park. We'll meet at Shelter #6 in Lake Seminole Park at 9:00 AM for a time of worship, hymn singing and fellowship. Mark your calendars NOW.

9:00 AM - Continental Breakfast

followed by:
inspirational music from the praise band, offertory music and collection of tithes & offerings; pastor's sermon "The God Who Forgives and Forgets"; invitation; Lord's Supper; reading of the Church Covenant

then the BBQ, and at noon, the Birdsong Family will present a concert.

Bring your Bible, a love offering, your tithes, lawn chairs, a side dish, a dessert, and Jerry will be cooking the meat.

Mens' Prayer Breakfast...


    Saturday, April 26, 2008 - The men of the church will gather at 9:00 AM for breakfast. We'll have scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, OJ and coffee. This will be followed by a short devotional and then prayer time. We'll pray around the tables. We'll pray for whatever is on our hearts. We'll pray for each other.

    This prayer time will continue each month on the last Saturday of the month.

    A small donation is asked to help cover the costs of the food. Thank you.


Special Note: The first Men's Prayer Breakfast was a resounding success ! The pastor commented that he had never had filet mignon for breakfast before. Thank you to each of the men who came and had breakfast and then spent time in prayer with each other. We had 12 men. Jesus had 12 men. What can our 12 men do for the cause of the Kingdom ?

    May 9th is our Mothers & Daughters Banquet. All ladies of the church are invited as we honor this part of the foundation of our families. The appointed hour is 6:00 PM.

Harvest Day...

Father / Son Supper...

    June 14 is our Fathers & Sons Supper at the Golden Corral Restaurant on Ulmerton Road. We'll be chowing down at High Noon. Come with your father or son, dine, and hear a great speaker.

    Look at the animation at the left for a moment. Who's the #1 dad ? It's not me. It's not the pastor. It's not you. It's GOD the FATHER. He's number one - he knows us, yet still loves us !



Bible Camp...

We're sending our teens off to Bible Camp June 16th through June 20th.

This camp is up north in Athens, Georgia and is lead by Freddie Coile. The cost is $150 and the kids are earning $80 of that. Won't you help send them with a donation of $70 ? They have five hours of Bible instruction every day. Count them... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 hours - every day. They will memorize 15 different Bible verses!

Vacation Bible School...


    Vacation Bible School will be held at Friendship Baptist Church June 23 through June 27 from 6:30 PM until 9:00 PM. Commencement exercises will be Sunday night, 6:00 PM on June 29th.

    From LifeWay Christian Resources, "Outrigger Island: Living God's Unshakeable Truth," will take children, youth and adults to "Outrigger Island" where they will learn to know, speak and live God's truth. Based on Psalm 86:11 -– "Teach me Your way, Lord, and I will live by Your truth" –- the tropical adventure will help participants develop the stability they need to become unshakeable in a world of shifting sands.

    Outrigger Island is designed for all ages and follows a traditional VBS schedule with three-hour sessions throughout a weeklong summer program.



    Our Commitment:
    Vacation Bible School is the premiere outreach event of the year for many churches. Few other events offer the potential to reach out to children and adults in your community the way VBS can. Watch for the exact dates it will be held.

    History of VBS:
    VBS was the idea of Mrs. Walter Aylett Hawes, a doctor's wife. Her goal was to get children off the streets of New York. In 1898 and 1899 Mrs. Hawes rented a beer hall in New York's East Side to conduct her Everyday Bible School.

    Purpose & Principles:
    Vacation Bible School is a fun-filled spiritual adventure for boys and girls that provides concentrated Bible study and encourages real-life application.



Men's Bible Study...




    Saturday, June 21st is the first of the twice-a-month Men's Bible Study. Meeting at 11:00 AM next to the kitchen, we'll be studying prophacy with Pastor Fred Cooley.

Wednesday Night Dinners..

The YOUTH of the CHURCH is sponsoring the Wednesday Night Dinners on July 9th, July 16th, and July 23rd at 5:30 PM. Donation of $5 per person is suggested.

Ervin L. McWilson, Sr.
 
 
 Rev. Ervin L. McWilson, Sr. is a native Floridian, born in Pensacola, Florida.
 
Ervin is a builder for the Kingdom of God. He planted King’s Way Baptist Church in Orlando, Florida and served there as pastor for 10 years. He also served as pastor of Greater Little Rock Baptist Church, Pensacola, Florida for 10 years, planting two churches while there. Since 2003, Ervin has served as the State Director of Evangelism for the Baptist Convention of Pennsylvania and South Jersey. In this position, he is assisting rural and urban associations and churches in developing evangelistic and prayer strategies.
 
Ervin has been married for 36 years. Ervin and his wife Carrie are committed to loving each other and serving the body of Christ. They have three lovely adult children, Lynnetta, Lisa, and Ervin, Jr. and a grandson, David.
 
Ervin enjoys teaching and preaching the Word of God. He loves the local church and is committed to aiding it to become a healthy church. He is passionate about building relationships with pastors. He is committed to planting new churches. He cares deeply about reaching lost people. He believes prayer is foundational for any successful ministry. Ervin and Carrie are active members of East Shore Baptist Church, Harrisburg, PA.

$5 Registration, $7 includes lunch.



Change of Schedule...




    Beginning Sunday, August 24th, there will be only one worship service, at 11:00 AM; a 'blended' service, some traditional music, some contemporary music, but as always 'Biblically Correct' and dynamic preaching from God's Word.

    Sunday School will continue to be at 9:45 AM until 10:45 AM.
